Tis the season!!!

Tis the season, remodeling season!

Even with the Polar Vortex reeking havoc for most of us..Spring time is going to happen. Really! Around Valentine's Day we see an upturn in our business. Its remodeling season!

Yes, you are shoveling snow, slipping and sliding, but this is the perfect time to start on your kitchen remodel. Why?

Now is the time to contact a contractor to look at your project. Contractors who do good work, at a good price are booking now for project. You will want to interview 3 or 4 to see who you are most comfortable with. See if they return your call in a timely manner.

See if they even show up at all. Sometimes they are lazy, some may get an offer for a bigger job, one that they can make more money. It happens.
Ask to see examples of their work, they should be able to send you photos of their work.

Ask for a few references. They should offer a few names of happy clients. They may not give out private phone numbers, but rather an email that you can follow up.

Ask if they are licensed, if applicable. Ask if they have insurance, they should .
Ask they belong to any professional trade organization, like NARI. Never pay the entire amount at once. They usually set up a "draw" as the project progressives.
You maybe asked to pay in portions, perhaps 50% down, then in increments until the project is complete.

Check reviews on Yelp, Facebook or Google.

In turn, if you are really happy with the product or service you received, please write a good review. That helps other homeowners, and it helps the contractor grow their business.

Tis the Season !
