This is the first part of a 6 part blog posts series, Lingo you need to know.

Recently we had 2 clients, both doctors, in a design consult. They liked the design and the estimate of their new kitchen.

They wanted to proceed with Premium Cabinet Studio, but they had some additional questions.
They had spoken with a competitor of ours, who was offering Melamine cabinets, stating they were just as good as wooden cabinets.  This client had no idea what melamine cabinets meant.

Melamine:
Melamine is a chemical compound that has a number of industrial uses. One is a laminate coating, that can be used to cover MDF(partial board) to produce furniture, cabinets etc. It is a much cheaper, inferior alternative, to actual wood cabinets. This is a lower price, due to the cheaper material costs.

Melamine and MDF can both emit fumes from the resins & glues, chemical compounds that can be carcinogens.
