Invest in the best!

Last week we had a client who needed a contractor to remodel their kitchen.  We have vetted a few good contractors to whom we refer to clients.  We emphasize they are not our employees, but a well-qualified contractor that they have the option to interview for their project.

One contractor, who is very good, lots of experience, honest, gave an estimate the client thought was high.  When we told the contractor his estimate was much higher than other estimates he stated...
"Skilled labor isn't cheap...
Cheap labor isn't skilled!"

True!

So often a client wants the cheapest (best?) price on cabinets, labor, appliances, counter top, flooring and any other item associated with their kitchen remodel.  But remember it, is CHEAP for a reason!

Today home buyers are more educated and more sophisticated thanks in part to DIY, HGTV & Pinterest.
They know the difference between MDF, particle board and real wood cabinetry.  They know the features and benefits they want: soft close glides and hinges, full extension drawers, solid wood cabinetry and dove tailed craftsmanship.  They see the difference in a good installation of cabinets and they notice a poor installation.

They know quality, and they look for value.  Value is not price.

If a contractor isn't busy, there is probably a good reason for it.  Right now there is a shortage of good, qualified labor in the construction industry.  Sadly this industry is fraught with people wanting to make a fast buck... then doing a poor quality job or never finishing a job.  Hard earned money wasted.

When it comes to your home, you need to get the best, most experienced labor as well as the best quality cabinets and appliances within your budget.  It is an investment with a return not a cost that is wasted.

Your home is probably your biggest investment.
It is where you spend your life, raise your family and make memories.
You need to invest in the best!
