How much?
Once a week I get a call from someone asking me that. If you have ever read my blog "Ask Leslie" on www.overlandparkcabinets.com, I have stated that we DO NOT quote prices over the phone, but 3 weeks ago I got talked into it. Inspiration
In my last post, "How NOT to design your design project" I discussed how paint, lighting, tile and color selection has an order… you don't buy cabinets or furniture to "match" a wall color. Which begs the question, "What about inspiration?" We have all heard that term, what is inspiration? You can be inspired, by a landscape, a sunset. Pinterest is filled with inspiration! How NOT to plan your design project
I have been working on and off as an Interior Designer for over 28 years. I will explain the "off" later. I have worked with architects on commercial interiors and I have done residential projects as well. Trust me, the residential is harder. I always try to educate my clients about quality, color, style selections and planning. Yes, there is an order when undertaking a design project. Take me to an island! Sure! I would be happy to take you to an island. No, not a sunny, beachy one but the one that could be in your kitchen. The great majority of our clients plan on an island in their new kitchen.. The "peninsula" or "snack bar (yes, old school ) has given way to the newest must- have, the kitchen island. Terms you should know + now you do!
When my husband Don and I were looking into our new cabinet business, we had to learn everything about every type of cabinetry. After all we are the "experts". Clients depend on our expertise and we try to educate on what to look for when buying cabinets. It's a big expense. We want you to be confident in your choice, Some terms you will here and you need to know are: Full Overlay ? Frameless? Face Frame?.... Ok...? What does that mean , and which is best ?
Kitchen Remodel: It’s a Process
You & hubby keep thinking that you would like to update your old kitchen, after all, “harvest gold” went out in 1981. “Yeah but..... “....It costs too much” “It will be a big mess...” …..It will take TOO long” “We don't really even like to cook!” Sound familiar? Buy American....
“U.S.A., U.S.A. Buy American! Made in The U.S.A.” Sounds good, doesn't it? It may sound good BUT when it comes to opening their wallets and shelling out their “hard earned money “Americans ...DON'T! |
